JOB VACANCY: Chief Financial Officer


JOB DESCRIPTION AND WORK FUNCTIONS

     Broad View
  • Overall responsibility for and supervision of Company’s Finance 
  • and Accounting state of affairs
  • Providing leadership initiatives, financial insight, analysis and guidance to support management in all aspects of Company & Project matters and strategic corporate goals.
  • Setting and communicating the vision and strategy for finance
  • Define standards, policies, procedures, measures, and organizational enhancements to meet company goals for finance.
  • Ensuring the appropriate Accounting and Financial standards ( GAAP)/ ( IFRS) and policies.
  • Internal control and governance arrangements
  • Improving / Design of Financial management systems &  Processes
  • Ensuring Regulatory compliance
  • Financial Planning and budgeting ; Ensuring the financial and commercial sustainability of operations
  • Financial Reporting and auditing
  • Tax & related issues management
  • Overall Management of Accounting Information systems
  • Financial/Investment/Project  planning , analysis and ranking ( Including the establishment and application of  Forecasting assumptions) Selection, measurement & monitoring of indicators: performance, benchmark, capital structure and liquidity indicators, Profitability analysis and assessment of business propositions, Cost and contingencies component analysis, Cost & Revenue forecasting, Cost efficiencies management , Cash flow stability and management and growth
  • Forecasting & Financial Projections
  • Scenario Planning and Business case appraisal ; Undertaking Cost benefit analysis
  • Market trend Analysis
  • Funding acquisition and management
  • Financial & Funding negotiations

  • Design and analysis of Tariff, pricing and other cost recovery instruments; Pricing and profitability analysis

  • Preparation of financial information for external publication and communication to the capital markets

ü  Key Performance Indicators
  • Regulation, Supervision and implementation of timely, full and accurate set of Accounting information reflecting all activities of the organization in a manner commensurate with the relevant legislations and regulations of the operations of the organization and subject to internal guidelines, policies and procedures set from time to time by the board of directors of the organization. Accurate & Accessible Accounting Data gathering
  • To implement financial audit and control systems. To monitor the organizations performance, the flow of funds, the adherence to the budget, the expenditure, purchase, procurement,  the income, the cost of sales, job costing, other cost components  and other budgetary items
  • To timely, regularly and duly prepare to the board of directors financial statements and reports as required by all pertinent laws and regulations in the territory of the operations of the Company and as deemed necessary from time to time by the board of directors
  • To comply with all reporting, accounting and audit requirements imposed by the regulator and any capital market in which the securities of the company is
  • To prepare and present for the approval of the board of directors, timely, accurate and duly prepared annual budget, other budget, financial plans, business plans, feasibility studies, investment ,   financial and project analysis and other investment memoranda and all other financial documents that may be from time to time required by the board of directors
  • To collaborate and coordinate the activities of outside suppliers of financial services hired or contracted by the company including accountants, auditors, financial consultants, the banking system and other financial venues
  • To negotiate Financing on behalf of the organization, To secure adequate financing to meet Company strategy, project and operational objectives , To advise on  the best source of finance and secure the best financing terms
  • To alert the board of directors and to warn it against irregularities, lack of compliance , lack of adherence, lacunas and problems whether actual or potential concerning the financial system , financial operations, financial plan or financing plan, the accounting, audit , the budget and any other matter of financial nature or significance/implication or which could or does have financial implications
  • Cost efficiencies management , Cash flow stability , management and growth
  • Effective Management of funding obligations and covenants  to reduce exposure and build trust of investors/lenders
  • Risk Analysis and Management including the application of mitigating, preventing and corrective measures
  • Efficient use of Company resources and assets
  • Proper Representation of the organizations strategic goals to external stake holders

Knowledge and expertise: 

·       BS in Accounting or Finance,
·         CPA/ACA/MBA is highly desirable
·         Fluent in English
·         Management/supervisory skills
·         Financial reporting
·         Accounting and Financial skills


Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role

A minimum of 15+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in oil and gas/energy Service Company, Energy, Infrastructure, Construction or Project Development Industry.
·         7+ years experience in accounting and planning required
·         7-10 Years Management Experience is required.
·         Experience as a Financial Controller is preferred.
·         Experience with a multi-currency company is preferred.
·         Experience with appropriate accounting and finance application.
·         Experience in Project /Corporate/Structured Finance


·         Experience in capital projects financing and finance management

Skills transfer

The Manager shall, throughout the period of his engagement, transfer his skills and knowledge to identified personnel in the Company.  This shall necessitate that the Manager:
·         participate in the assessment of training needs of employees of the Company;  and
·         assess, on an on-going basis, the implementation of the management and training services.
