President Muhammadu Buhari is
expected to lead Nigeria to the first forum of the Commonwealth Enterprise and
Investment Council, CWEIC holding alongside the meeting of the Commonwealth
Heads of Government, CHOGM in Malta in November. The CWEIC, formally known as
the Commonwealth Business Council was transformed into the CWEIC with a
specific mandate to promote trade and investment among Commonwealth countries.
The CWEIC is expected to host the business forum which is expected to offer
opportunities for commonwealth members to exchange and project their
businesses.
“The forum convenes Heads of Government, senior
ministers, government delegates and the private sector in one place to discuss
business opportunities and policy making,” Abdul Quadir Hamza, the head of
Business Development of the CWEIC said in a letter appointing Puffa Nigeria
Limited as its partner to lead the Nigeria business delegation to the forum
which is expected to be attended by the heads of government, 1,200 business
leaders and ministers from across the Commonwealth.
Urging Nigerian business persons to take the
opportunity of the forum to project themselves in the light of the unhindered
opportunities being given to entrepreneurs by the Buhari administration, Mr.
Joseph Ambakederimo, CEO of Puffa Nigeria Limited said:
“The fight against corruption launched by the
Muhammadu Buhari administration offers a special opportunity to all kinds of
business persons to compete favourably with their local peers and international
competitors and the Commonwealth Business Forum offers all those who had been
so marginalised in the past to project themselves.”
